WELCOME!

Pastor Sam has, from time to time, stated that if some issue really bothers you, perhaps it is an indication that the LORD has tagged you to address that issue. So, here we are: Glossa Water is my attempt to provide a place where I can present to you an opportunity to dig into the Word a little more deeply than can be accomplished in a typical service. I hope that you will find this space peaceful and inspiring, maybe even challenging. Thank you for visiting.

Today is my father's birthday. As a child in the rural south of the United States, he grew up in a time where there was not good maintainance of records such as dates of birth. In his case we know the day, but not the year. Our guess is that Daddy is somewhere between 75 and 77 years old.

In today's sermon, we were reminded of the insights and warnings in Matthew 25. Unlike my dad's situation, the passage indicates that there is a complete, permanent record being maintained for each of us. This evening I have been reflecting on the three parables that speak to the record: dressed but not ready; equipped but lazy; and what I like to call "When did we see...?"

Perhaps the lack of power and credibility in the church community can be traced to this triple indictment of being in the right place but with the wrong heart. But I find that I cannot really malign the community, this passage calls me to check myself. My prayer is that each of us will have God's assurance of where we stand in Him, and that we will respond accordingly.
